Configure Maximum SQL Server memory usage

Ran into cases where SQL Server 2008 had difficulties handling memory pressure and would server system hangs / laggy.

The default value for SQL Server 2008 Maximum Server Memory setting is 2,147,483,647 MB (or 2.1 petabytes). Therefore, SQL Server will use all available memory for its own use.

To limit the Maximum server memory used by SQL Server, here’s the steps to get to the above window:

Launch SQL Management Studio | Right click SQL Server | Properties
